Documentation! Articles! Guides!

Post by Elden » Thu Apr 30, 2015 4:31 pm

Writing stuff and putting it on the internet helps new members, other clubs, and even long standing members, and we're always saying we should do more of it. At least I am. Couple of ideas:
Beginner clothing guide - What items should new people have and what's our evidence? How should they make them? Where should they buy them? - started last year, needs more work.
How to be useful at shows - Nothing super complicated here, but I'm hearing that people who are inclined to read would enjoy reading about what to expect and what to do before a gig to speed up cultural assimilation and reduce awkward standing around.
Documenting our projects and research
Writing short event reports for the website and facebook page
How do we get ourselves writing? Assignments and deadlines? Collaborative editing sessions? Better collab tools?

In the absence of a more hands-on group effort for this year, can I propose we finally bite the bullet on publishing lots of guides and articles?

I've made a start on a camp guide (still only partial and very much in draft) on Google docs.

Let me know if you want to contribute and I'll give access.

If it would help with collaboration, I can post a link for people to view.
