Some time in late August/early September, I planted my newest crop of flax. Unlike the first failed attempt, this crop flourished and at some point in late November burst into bloom:

(Le Menagier de Paris also has a variation on the cheese fritter although that recipes involves a slightly harder cheese and cutting it into sticks and frying it.)

Take garlic cloves, peel and boil them. When they are cooked put them to soak in cold water and then grind them and add saffron, enough fresh cheese, beaten lard, sweet and strong spices and temper the mixture with eggs, add raisins and then make the tart.
Patching a Turnshoe Sole
When my turnshoes wore through, I wanted to patch them to extend the working life of the shoe and save quickly wearing another hole through my wool hose.
